Phoenix Camera club Programme 2019.

January 7th - Smart phone photography with Jo Bradford. Author of ‘Smart Phone,Smart Photography’, Jo will talk about taking photos with iPhone and android phones and using apps to edit photos as well as cross platform smart phone skills.

February 4th - Portraiture photography with Julia Hobday. An evening to learn and practice your skills, photographing a model with Julia’s skills as a tutor to help us along. Bring your camera along with a suitable lens (ideally 50-100mm).

March 4th - “The Magic of Colour” with Harry Lowes.
Light and colour are the mediums with which photographers work. This presentation explains light and colour in simple terms, how we see light and colour, capture them as images, and view and print these images.
Bring in “I can see for miles” competition prints for next month.

April 1st - Print Competition- “I can see for miles”

May 13th - Astrophotography with Chris Small.
Bring in “people in context” competition prints for next month.

June 3rd - Print Competition -“people in context”.

July 1st - Still Life workshop. A chance to set up various ‘still life’ scenarios and photograph them with your own equipment under different lighting conditions. Try different backdrops, lay-outs, objects and moods to create a masterpiece! You may decide to use one of your creations in the September “still Life” competition.

August 5th -(at Parkhouse in Bude) Speakers - Nick and Heather Bodle. A chance to see Nicks interpretation of the U.K in landscape and Heathers stunning art flower photos.
Bring in your “still Life” competition prints for next month.

September 9th Print competition - “Still Life”

October 7th -Photo-microscopy with Harry Lowes.
Photo-microscopy is the world beyond macro-photography and this presentation will explore this world, including the equipment used in both optical and electron microscopy along with examples of their application. It will conclude with an opportunity to members to use a simple optical microscope.

November 4th - Print competition- “Open”

December 2nd - The A.G.M then our nibbles and wine evening. A chance to view each others D.P.I images from the workshop evenings this year and any other images from your exploits out and about with your camera.
