Trips and Events

Having fun, sharing creative ideas and solving photography problems in the field are just a few of the benefits that can come about from joining us on one of our local photo-shoots.

We try to arrange at least two photo-shoots 'on-location' each year, choosing different places to visit at various times and seasons. The aim of these informal events is to share some time together as a club, to learn a little more about taking photographs in a variety of situations and weathers and to perhaps try out some of the functions on your camera that you have never used before!

We are also pleased to stage exhibitions and displays of our photography in support of local charities and community events.

Thanks in part to our funding from the National Lottery Fund - Awards for All Scheme, the Phoenix Camera Club has been pleased to stage a number of photographic displays and exhibitions recently.

Appledore Photo-Shoot - July 2011


An intrepid group of Phoenix Camera Club members met recently at Appledore for a social photo-shoot.

We were rewarded with a beautiful sunset evening - the group split up and explored the town and surrounding areas to see what images they could capture . We then moved on to a local hostelry for a  welcome drink.

Once more the Phoenix Camera Club was asked to present an exhibition of work as part of this years Holsworthy St. Peters Fair Celebrations.

Our exhibition was presented in St Peters Church, Holsworthy from July 7th, 2010 to July 10th 2010.

Our images were also displayed at the Winsford Trust Open Day, The Winsford Centre, Halwill Junction on Sunday July 11th 2010.

Our displays were visited by a large number of visitors and we received some very encouraging comments on our work.
